High School Scholarship
The North Kingstown Educational Foundation is pleased to announce the availability of (2) $1000 scholarships to qualified graduating NKHS high school seniors who are declaring their college of study in the field of education.

Scholarship Criteria

- Applicant must be a North Kingstown High School Senior who is seeking admission and/or has been accepted to an accredited institution of higher learning in the field of education.
- Academics, financial need and school/civic/community involvement are the criteria used by the Selection Committee to determine scholarship eligibility.
Application Packet Requirements:
____ Fully completed and signed North Kingstown Educational Foundation application
____ Personal Statement (500 word max) Choose one of the following questions:

- What sparked your interest in education and why?
- Describe the most significant lesson or piece of advice you have learned from a teacher that inspired your decision to pursue a career in education?
- Describe a book, movie, or song that has significantly impacted your life and why?
- What are your specific career goals in education and how do you plan to have a positive impact on the future generation?
- Imagine that you could teach a class about anything you wanted – what would it be & why and how would you teach it?
____ An official transcript of the applicant’s high school grades must be included
____ Two signed letters of recommendation from persons not related to the applicant.

- One must be written by a teacher
- The other can be (but not limited to) a coach, mentor, employer, community member with knowledge of your passion for education.
____ A copy of your FAFSA SAR (Student Aid Report) as verification of your SAI (Student Aid Index)
____ Complete application packet must be returned to the NKEF by April 20, 2025 with all the above requirements. Applications will only be accepted and considered if the packet is completed in full and on time.
