The NKEF is looking for volunteers to play on the NKSD Faculty/Staff team coached by Lane Leedahl, a group of cheerleaders as well as individuals who are willing to help support the event (prize distribution, concession stand and more).  Basketball experience and practice time is optional!!! The NKEF Reading Madness Challenge registration is open! 

Register to be part of your school team and READ your way to the Final Four!  Registration is open! 

Using your computer’s browser:

• Go to http://pledgestar.com/NKEF
• Click “Not Registered For This Year’s Event”
• Enter your name and email address, then click “Submit”
• Follow the instructions on-screen to register Reader(s), choose your school of choice (Home team) and add family and friends for pledge requests

Using your Android or Apple phone or tablet:

• Go to your device’s App Store and search for “PledgeStar” to download the Family App, or go to https://pledgestar.com/NKEF/downloadapp.html
• On the home screen enter your event code: “NKEF” to locate your event
• Click “Not Registered For This Year’s Event”

JOIN THE MADNESS & READ!

Register & create a reader profile, request pledges and pick a book to read!  

Your participation will help your school earn points & get ranked into the Final Four Bracket.  

The top 4 schools will earn Literacy Grants of different values and readers earn Incentive prizes 

for minutes read and donations collected. 

EVERY 30 MINUTES LOGGED & EVERY $25 DONATED EARNS YOUR SCHOOL TEAM 1 POINT

Logging Reading minutes & collecting donations for the CHALLENGE  begins 3/13 & ends 3/22

 It’s a slam dunk!

Let’s Light up NK tonight!  We have sold a little over 100 luminary kits to whole neighborhoods and individuals of NK and they are ready to share a little hope for the holidays.  Luminary bag displays will be out tonight from 5-9pm. Thank you to all who purchased kits and supported the NKEF.  We are so happy to be part of the season and creating a new tradition for North Kingstown.  
Take a break from the hustle and bustle and drive around to view the peacefulness of the night and the lights.  Enjoy!!!

Luminary event – Sunday: December 18, 2022 (5-10pm)
One night event to end the contest with a luminary bag display uniting streets and neighborhoods of
North Kingstown in a beautiful glowing exhibit for the holidays .
A new map including Luminary areas will be available on 12/17 to follow & enjoy the sights.
(In case of inclement weather : Rain date is Monday, 12/19/22 and will announced by 12/18/22 at 12pm)

The NKEF will be at The Festival of Lights in Wickford this Thursday – Sunday (12/1-12/4) and at the Fishing Cove PTO Craft Fair located at North Kingstown High School Saturday 12/3 10-3. Stop by, say Hi and purchase your Luminary kit.  No pre-registration required.  First come, first serve.
