WEEK 1 School Grant Winner

Congratulations to Fishing Cove School for being the top collecting school team in the NKEF Read-a-thon Week 1.  Principal, Colleen Loughlin was presented the $500 grant for supplemental literacy materials.  Fishing Cove raised $1205 in one week to support the NKEF and their school.  Their hard work is very much appreciated.  Thanks for Catching the Reading Wave with the NKEF!  Donate today

Usborne Books & More just released their newest catalog and we are so excited to partner with Jamie Martin-Boucher, Usborne consultant, to get FREE books for the North Kingstown Educational Foundation Catch the Reading Wave Read-A-Thon! We are hosting a Reading is an Adventure Usborne Books & More Party on Tuesday, February 2nd at 8:30 pm Virtually. This event will be filled with games, activities, and lots of FUN … you could even have a chance to win a prize! Anyone can register for our Read-A-Thon!

Any business, restaurant, organization, neighborhood or book club can create a team.  

Max number of team members is 25. 

If you are interested in creating a team use this Read-a-thon Team Signup Form.

Recruit your team – ask your friends, employees, members and/or customers and have them register. Non-school teams will be monitored and tracked for a weekly prize.  

Teams raising the most funds per week will receive a team prize. Prizes will be awarded each Monday.

NKEF Catch the Wave Read-a-thon Registration and Tracker

Are you an avid reader? Are you looking for a fun way to support a great cause? Are you willing to Catch the Reading wave with the NKEF? IF your answer is yes to any of these you are in the right place! 
The North Kingstown Educational Foundation is hosting their first ever, annual read-a-thon fundraiser.   The whole month of February we are raising funds to provide grants for the NK School department.  It’s easy to participate –  Register yourself for a team, read your favorite book or two, track your minutes and collect donations.

The North Kingstown Educational Foundation Catch the Reading Wave Read-A-Thon calendar is now live!!! NKEF launches Town Wide Read-A-Thon February 1, 2021

The NKEF is hosting a month long event full of fun activities for you and your family to take part in all while raising money for education in our community! Visit Catch the Reading Wave Read-A-Thon to get a calendar of activities, printouts, contests deadlines and more.

We have partnered with The Blue Bus Foundation to bring to you The Blue Bus Book Mobile. Donate your gently used book for all ages to help us fill our Book Mobile.
